Media bias ratings and story coverage
Which news stories outlets rated left, center and right ran, the stories one side's outlets mostly did not, and each outlet's Media Bias/Fact Check rating.
Media Bias (Feed desk)
Media Bias is a data page on the Feed desk of Glassbox Auditing. Each top news story across the outlets that ran it, grouped by the political lean that Media Bias/Fact Check (and AllSides where its file is on hand) rate those outlets, with the outlets' factual-reporting ratings and the stories one side of the scale mostly did not run. Which outlets carry a story shapes what each audience sees, and a story with wide coverage on only one side is easy to miss from the other.

What does this page lead to?
- News (Feed): The News page lists headlines by outlet; this page counts, for the same top stories, how many outlets on each side of the rating scale ran them, so a headline there can be set against its coverage mix. (either way, depending on the cause; same day; sector scale) Source: Google News: headlines and outlets of the same story (linked, not fetched).
- Election Outlook (Domestic Intelligence): When a candidate or race is among the day's top stories, this page shows which outlets covered it; the mix of outlets is a record of coverage, not a measure of how people vote. (either way, depending on the cause; days; economy scale) Source: Google News: headlines and outlets of the same story (linked, not fetched).
What feeds this page?
- Fact Checks (Feed): Media Bias rates outlets as a whole; a fact check rates one claim. A checker's rating of a claim says nothing about the outlets that carried the story, and an outlet's rating says nothing about one claim. (either way, depending on the cause; days; sector scale) Source: Google Data Commons fact-check data feed: ClaimReview markup published by each fact-checker (compilation CC BY; each review's own licence in its sdLicense).
- News (Feed): A top story on the News page usually appears here as one cluster of outlets; the more outlets run a story, the more rated outlets there are to compare, and a story with few rated outlets shows as thinly rated. (moves the same way; same day; sector scale) Source: Google News: headlines and outlets of the same story (linked, not fetched).
