Watchlist & Alerts
Watchlist & Alerts is a data page on the Briefing desk of Glassbox Auditing. Companies, people, cases, states and other names on the terminal's watchlist, and the alerts raised when something new happens to them: a lawsuit, filing, judgment, executive change, regulatory action, federal contract or a jump in news stories. It turns every desk's records into one running log of change for the names being followed.
What does this page lead to?
- Courts & Lawsuits (Companies): A new-lawsuit or judgment alert points to the case record; a suit is an allegation until a court rules, and a ruling or settlement can bring costs a company must disclose. (either way, depending on the cause; same day; company scale) Source: CourtListener (Free Law Project), RECAP federal dockets and opinions.
- Leadership (Companies): A new-executive alert follows an appointment or departure, which companies file on Form 8-K item 5.02; a sudden chief executive or finance chief exit tends to draw a share-price reaction. (either way, depending on the cause; same day; company scale) Source: SEC Form 8-K item 5.02 (director and officer departures and appointments).
- Regulatory Exposure (Companies): A regulatory-action alert marks a new tie to a regulator; enforcement can bring fines, consent orders or limits on a product line. (either way, depending on the cause; weeks to years; company scale) Source: Regulators' own announcements: FTC, SEC, Justice Department, EEOC, state attorneys general, European data-protection authorities (each matter links its own).
- Federal Contractors (People & Money): A new-contract alert marks a new federal award, which adds to the contractor's backlog and revenue over the life of the contract. (moves the same way; over the award's life; company scale) Source: USAspending.gov (U.S. Treasury): federal contracts, grants and loans by recipient.
- Company Options (Options): Weeks with several times the usual news stories about a company tend to bring heavier trading in its shares and options; more coverage is not evidence of wrongdoing. (moves the same way; same week; company scale) Source: Robinhood options market data (OPRA).
What feeds this page?
- News (Feed): A watched company's new SEC filing or press release becomes a Watchlist alert, so the filings and releases here are the raw feed for those alerts. (moves the same way; minutes; company scale) Source: SEC EDGAR latest 8-K filings.
