Buses

Buses is a data page on the Travel desk of Glassbox Auditing. Long-distance bus tickets from FlixBus, Greyhound and Megabus, city buses live on a map in about twenty cities and regions, their operators' alerts and detours, and how bus fares are moving. Buses are the cheapest way between many cities and the way many workers get to their jobs, so fares and service cuts reach household budgets and commutes.

What feeds this page?

  • Traffic Cameras (Global Intelligence): Closed or jammed roads seen on the cameras are the ones city and intercity buses run on, so they show up as the detours and delays on the Buses page. (moves the same way; same day; sector scale)
  • Trains (Travel): Buses run the same corridors as trains for less, so higher train fares tend to send price-sensitive travellers to FlixBus, Greyhound and Megabus. (moves the same way; weeks; sector scale) Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
