Investment Reports
Investment Reports is a data page on the People & Money desk of Glassbox Auditing. What large institutions, public pension funds, endowments and foundations hold each quarter (Form 13F) and which stocks the most tracked funds opened or sold out of that quarter, what executives and directors own and trade in their own companies (Forms 3, 4 and 5), the trades House members report, and the tracked banks' call reports. These are the reported positions of the money closest to company boards and to policy.

What does this page lead to?
- Stock by Stock (Markets): When many large funds add the same stock in a quarter, their combined buying is part of what moved its price; 13Fs arrive up to 45 days after the quarter, so they record past flows. (moves the same way; 45 days after quarter end; company scale) Source: SEC Form 13F holdings reports (EDGAR).
- Company (Companies): Each company's page counts the tracked funds that opened, added to, cut or sold out of its stock last quarter; the filings show quarter-end positions up to 45 days late, not when in the quarter or why. (either way, depending on the cause; 45 days after quarter end; company scale) Source: SEC Form 13F holdings reports (EDGAR).
- Leadership (Companies): Executives' open-market purchases (code P) are made with their own money, and studies find them more informative than their sales, many of which are for taxes, diversification or preset plans. (either way, depending on the cause; 2 business days; company scale) Source: SEC Form 4 insider filings.
- Credit & Housing (Macro): The tracked banks' call reports show loans, deposits and charge-offs; rising charge-offs tend to be followed by tighter lending standards and slower loan growth. (moves the other way; 1-2 quarters; economy scale) Source: FDIC BankFind Suite: call-report financials of every insured bank (1984 on).
- Government (People & Money): House members must report stock trades over $1,000 within 45 days under the STOCK Act; set beside their committee seats on Government, the reports show where holdings and committee work overlap. (either way, depending on the cause; 45 days; economy scale) Source: Clerk of the U.S. House, financial disclosures and trade reports.
- Universities (Education): Universities spend about 4-5% of their endowment each year under payout rules that average past values, so endowment gains reach aid and research budgets over the following years. (moves the same way; 1-3 years; sector scale) Source: IRS Form 990 / 990-PF e-file data (the IRS's public archives).
- Charity & Political Links (People & Money): Private foundations must pay out about 5% of their investment assets each year (tax code section 4942), so gains in the foundation holdings reported here raise the grants their next Form 990-PF lists. (moves the same way; 1 year; sector scale) Source: IRS Form 990 / 990-PF e-file data (the IRS's public archives).

- Documentary Watch (People & Money): Claims about a fund's or family's holdings can be set beside its 13F, which records only U.S.-listed stocks at quarter end, so stated and recorded figures often measure different things.
