What does this page lead to?
- Election Outlook (Domestic Intelligence): Money raised and outside spending are inputs the forecasters weigh, and parties and donors put the most into the races they see as closest. (either way, depending on the cause; election cycle; economy scale) Source: FEC bulk data: candidate and PAC financial summaries.
- Government (People & Money): Campaign money funds the races that decide who holds each office, and most of it goes to incumbents and to members of the committees that oversee the donors' industries. (either way, depending on the cause; election cycle; economy scale) Source: FEC bulk data: itemised individual contributions.
- Leadership (Companies): FEC forms record each donor's employer, so a company's executives' giving by party sits beside its board and officers on Leadership and shows which candidates its leaders back. (either way, depending on the cause; election cycle; company scale) Source: FEC bulk data: itemised individual contributions.
- Elections & Polls (World Powers): Party donations in the UK, Canada, Australia and Germany fund the campaigns in the elections on Elections & Polls, each reported under its own country's disclosure threshold. (either way, depending on the cause; election cycle; global scale) Source: UK Electoral Commission donations to parties (contains Electoral Commission Information © Electoral Commission and/or database right, OGL v3.0).
- US Map (Domestic Intelligence): Itemised gifts added up by state and city show which places fund national campaigns: money from a few metro areas, such as New York, Washington and the Bay Area, flows to races across the country. (either way, depending on the cause; election cycle; economy scale) Source: U.S. Census Gazetteer (places).
